Climate change has several negative impacts on human health. In Sweden, the effects of heat waves pose the greatest threat. This is shown by the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s risk and vulnerability analysis, in which a total of 14 different health risks have been assessed.
The analysis describes how climate change affects human health today, future health risks and society’s ability to deal with these challenges. When the average temperature rises, the likelihood of extreme weather events increases. The risk of changes in the ecosystem also increases, which can affect food, water and air quality, but also increase the spread of diseases via insects and other animals. For more information please click here.
