The 1992 Maastricht treaty gave the EU some responsibilities for public health, and since then it has been working to reduce health inequalities. But what is happening today? We look at some of the recent EU action on health equity.

Health inequalities are present throughout the world. We need local, nationally and global action to address them. This section covers the action taken on a global level to address the systematic inequalities in our societies as well as organisations and initiatives outside of Europe.
