Infographic: the pay-off of work retention for people with chronic diseases

This infographic, created by the Dutch Centre for Work and Health (Centrum Werk en Gezondheid) examines the gains of ensuring that people with chronic diseases do not lose their unemployment. Among other things it shows that, in the Netherlands, unemployment among people with chronic diseases costs 26 billion Euros per year. It also shows that 22% of chronically-ill people live in poverty due to lack of sufficient income and that 48% of people with chronic diseases say that work positively affects their health.
