Implementing the global framework on well-being at country level

The World Health Organization, in collaboration with the EuroHealthNet partnership, has published ‘Implementing the global framework on well-being at country level: policy pathways’. It offers practical guidance for ministries of health to support the transition to societies that prioritise human and planetary health, equity, and sustainability over narrow economic growth. The publication emphasises a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to policymaking, breaking down silos to achieve wellbeing for all.

The brief highlights five key policy pathways to guide national action: nurturing Planet Earth and its ecosystems through climate-resilient health systems; designing equitable social protection and welfare systems; strengthening universal health coverage with integrated public health and preventive services; promoting equitable economies that reduce inequalities and align trade with wellbeing goals; and ensuring equitable digital systems with inclusive access, digital literacy, and ethical governance of AI in healthcare.
