Tuscany Region, Italy

Tuscany Region (Italian: Regione Toscana) is the regional authority and administrative body of the region; it has legislative, administrative, and financial autonomy and is responsible, on a regional level, for issues including education, social issues, healthcare, international cooperation, and the environment.

The health system is the sector to which the region commits the largest share of its budget and organisational structure, and constitutes an infrastructure of services and activities that can generate positive effects throughout the region. Regione Toscana is also actively involved in the promotion of the Tuscan Life Sciences Cluster for large and small companies operating in the sector. Regione Toscana has a long-standing tradition of activities to promote wellness, including healthy diets and physical activity.
