The Swedish Commission for Equity in Health

In 2015, a national Commission for Equity in Health was appointed by the Swedish Government. It has been tasked with submitting proposals that can help reduce the health gap in society. The Commission’s main focus has been on health inequalities between different socio-economic groups in society and between women and men. The commission’s mission was based on the government’s (continued) goal of closing the impressionable health gaps within a generation. The Commission has applied broad welfare policy perspectives and proceeded from a cross-sectoral approach in both analyzes and proposals.
