The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia

The Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) of Latvia (Latvian: Slimību profilakses un kontroles centrs) was established on 1st April 2012 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia. The Centre is supervised by Ministry of Health and is seated in the capital City, Riga.

CDPC of Latvia goals are

  • to strengthen Latvia’s public health system;
  • to prevent diseases, including infectious and rare diseases;
  • to implement national public health policy in the field of epidemiological safety and disease prevention;
  • to ensure the implementation and coordination of health promotion policies.
