National Cancer Plan 2017 – 2021, Malta
The Maltese Ministry for Health launched a National Cancer Plan for Malta for consultation. This new Plan is setting out a comprehensive policy and strategies to address the challenges for cancer control for the next five years. The new Plan will continue to build on the national achievements to date in cancer prevention and control and in the management and care of cancer patients. It will be a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to continue to prioritise the several challenges posed by cancer diseases including the forecasted increase in the annual number of new cases and in the expenditure on cancer-related treatments from the introduction of new and more sophisticated treatment modalities including access to emerging and innovative cancer medicines.
