Is an unhealthy lifestyle more harmful for poor people?

People in low socio-economic groups have a higher prevalence of unhealthy lifestyle behaviours. However, a this study suggests that this may not fully account for the socioeconomic morbidity and mortality gradient. A study of 330,000 people in the UK ‘suggest[s] that the same risk factors are more harmful for people living in deprived circumstances than for people living in affluent areas.
