The Institute for Health Development is a research and development institution founded by the government, which collects, combines and provides reliable nationwide information on the health of the Estonian population from various sources.

Its mission is to create and share health knowledge and to influence health behaviour and health determinants in order to increase the wellbeing of the Estonian people and help them live long and healthy lives.
