Health inequalities, de-institutionalisation and social inclusion of people with chronic diseases and mental ill health in Bulgaria (2018)

The Bulgarian Centre of Public Health and Analyses in Sofia was the host of our this Country Exchange Visit.  The purpose was to exchange good policies and practices among a selection of senior European colleagues. The overall theme was health inequalities and vulnerable groups, but we focused on people with chronic diseases including people with mental ill health, and discussed de-institutionalisation, care, and social inclusion. In addition, we explored how related EU policy processes may support this work at national, regional, and local levels. Participants were also able to visit a day care centre for psychosocial rehabilitation in Sofia.
