Eurydice report: building sustainability competences among learners

This report by Eurydice explores whole-school approaches to sustainability, examining the extent to which ‘learning for sustainability’ is part of school activities and the support given to teachers and school leaders to facilitate this integration. It covers primary and general secondary education and  analyses:

  • How and to what extent European education systems embed learning for sustainability in their curricula.
  • How European education systems prepare and support their teachers and school leaders in delivering sustainability education.

The sustainability competences referred to in this report are defined on the basis of the European GreenComp framework. The data source is a survey run by Eurydice across 39 European education systems on policies and support measures.
