Social Impact Investing
Social impact investing provides finance to organisations addressing social and/or environmental needs with the explicit expectation of a measurable social, as well as financial, return.
A social impact bond (SIB) is a contract with the public sector or governing authority, whereby it pays for better social outcomes in certain areas and passes on the part of the savings achieved to investors.
Social outcomes contracting (SOC), or outcomes funds, are contracts in which payments are made only when pre-agreed social (or health promoting) outcomes are achieved by the funded programme/ organisation.
